On Friday 4th May staff at XL Displays dropped off their biggest food donation to date. The volunteers at the food bank depot in Woodston were amazed at how big the collection was.
Weighing in at 524kg, the donation included 1429 items which saw a mix of tinned food, long life milk, dried foods, toiletries and even nappies.
The donation was enough to fully restock at least two service centres around Peterborough which would supply up to 64 food vouchers for a week.
Joanne Bass, Director of XL Displays, said: “”Fundraising and supporting both local and national causes has always been a big part of life here at XL Displays.”
Joanne continued: “We are extremely passionate about doing the best we can to contribute towards this brilliant local service. Our staff members are aware of the brilliant impact the foodbank can have on vulnerable people in their time of need, and really get behind the collections we run. We are over the moon at the amount of food we have been able to donate this time and we look forward to dropping off our next foodbank collection later this year.”
