Time to pre-register to attend Peterborough's biggest B2B networking event

Businesses in Peterborough are preparing for the city’s annual B2B exhibition where a record number of business connections are expected to be made during the popular all-day event.

Over 85 exhibitors have already confirmed they’ll be attending the annual event to showcase their products and services and with an expected 600 visitors expected through the doors on the day, there will be unlimited opportunities to make new business connections.

The day will be kick-started with a presentation from the Band of England who will be addressing members of the city’s Opportunity Peterborough Bondholder Network before the exhibition is officially opened by Gillian Beasley, Chief Executive of Peterborough City Council.

Companies from across the region have pre-registered to meet with exhibitors and take advantage of the extensive programme of free seminars taking place throughout the day. They include an update on the latest digital marketing and social media trends from Media Matters, advice on how to increase website traffic and generate results from OlsenMetrix Marketing whilst award-winning journalist and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire presenter Paul Stainton will be offering expert advice on how to communicate effectively and get your message across in the media.

Other sessions will cover how business can use the government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme to significantly reduce the risk of a cyber-attack, how small businesses should plan ahead to meet their auto-enrolment obligations and how Peterborough’s vision to become the UK’s first circular city will create a boost for the local business community.

Sponsors Peterborough Regional College will also be running an interactive workshop on effective coaching skills including free resources to take away.

The Peterborough B2B Exhibition is an annual event organised by Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce and Opportunity Peterborough, sponsored by Peterborough City Council and Peterborough Regional College and supported by the Evening Telegraph, KingsGate Centre and OlsenMetrix Marketing.

John Bridge OBE DL, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce and Chairman of Opportunity Peterborough, said:

“This is a great opportunity for companies to engage with the wider business community and create exciting new prospects for future growth, and the timing couldn’t be better.

“Our latest quarterly economic survey of local companies revealed that 25% are expecting to increase their workforce over the next three months, and business confidence remains high. 90% of those who responded stated that they expected turnover to increase or stay the same over the next 12 months and over 80% anticipating similarly positive profit prospects for the next 12 months.

“The Peterborough B2B Exhibition is the city’s most established B2B event and there is every indication that this year’s event will be the most successful and productive to date for all who attend.”

The all-day event takes place at KingsGate Centre on Wednesday 19 October from 9.00am-4.00pm. Places to attend both the exhibition and free seminars can be booked online at www.peterboroughb2b.co.uk
