The Recruit Job Show is going virtual – and your company can get on board!

Tackling Worklessness in Peterborough – a consortium of local organisations aiming to reduce unemployment in the city – are launching a brand new virtual Recruit Job Show for Peterborough employers, to take place on Tuesday 30 June 2020.

The Recruit Job Show will be held online, across social media and the TWIP website, and will give employers the opportunity to showcase their companies and opportunities to keen job seekers.

Previous TWIP job shows held at local venues have attracted over 600 keen job seekers, from school leavers to those looking to change career direction, and from trainees and apprentices through to those with a wealth of experience and skills. It is hoped the new virtual format will attract large numbers of people looking for local openings.

Employers are asked to put up short videos showcasing their companies and career opportunities on their social media feeds. These will be shared by the DWP social media as well as TWIP members. Links to companies actively recruiting will also be featured on the TWIP website www.twipeterborough.uk.

The event is being organised by DWP in collaboration with Tackling Worklessness in Peterborough (TWIP), and uses the combined skills of the very best recruitment, training and support organisations from across Peterborough.  TWIP is led by Cross Keys Homes, and takes action to get the right workforce for local companies and the right jobs for local people.

Shaun Sadler, Districts Operations Leader at Peterborough Jobcentreplus said: “TWIP has a long track record of running recruitment events that really work for employers and job seekers alike. Times are very different right now, but we hope that this virtual format will help to provide the link between employers and job seekers that many companies are asking for.

“Unemployment looks set to rise in the local area as the impact of lockdown becomes apparent. However, we know there are many local companies looking to recruit, to kick start their company’s recovery and the local economy, and we aim to do all we can to help connect employers and those looking for work.”

Companies can join the Recruit Virtual Job Show for free. To get involved email peterborough.eateam@dwp.gov.uk or visit www.twipeterborough.uk for more information, and look out for the hashtag #VirtualRecruit.
