Staff from the city’s leading independent agency Anne Corder Recruitment will be unleashing their inner Mary Berry’s this Friday (November 15) at their annual Children in Need bake off challenge.

The team’s fundraising efforts will include cooking up a ‘showstopper’ bake each and sampling the rival dishes, before taking a secret ballot vote to decide on the winner.

Last year’s champion was recruitment consultant Joanne Copeland, who tickled the most taste buds with a homemade filo pie.

“It’s the friendly competition, good company and delicious variety of sweet and savoury treats that makes this a much anticipated event in the ACR calendar,” said Anne Corder.

“This is the first year we’ll be doing the Bake Off challenge in our new Lynch Wood offices so we expect a few of our local clients and candidates will be dropping by to ‘help’ with the sampling process,” she added.

Staff will also be wearing purple and entering a ‘Guess the Baby’ competition in exchange for a minimum £5 donation.

All money raised on the day will be donated to the BBC Children in Need appeal.
