State of the art premises for leading IT provider being built in the city

Artisan (UK) Developments Ltd is pleased to announce it has won a highly competitive tender to design and build a bespoke 30,000 sq ft service operation centre at its OPUS business park in Hampton, Peterborough for leading specialist IT solutions and services provider, Kelway (UK) Limited.

Representatives of Barker Storey Matthews and Savills, agents for the scheme, commented that the new premises have been designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent rating and it will be one of the most efficient buildings to be constructed in the area when it is completed in June 2012.  The relocation of Kelway from Huntingdon will provide a major boost to the City’s economy and further establishes Hampton as one of Peterborough’s prime office areas.

Hampton is a major growth centre for Peterborough and the long-term supply of good, affordable housing for potential new work force as well as the excellent amenities located around the Serpentine shopping centre makes it an attractive location for businesses.

The purpose-built 30,000 sq ft three-storey, detached office building has been commissioned by Kelway to support its expanding operations and will accommodate over 350 of its staff.

Planning was secured within six weeks of the application being registered thanks to the help and assistance given by Peterborough City Council. Detailed designs have now been undertaken in tandem with the planning process and the onsite construction period will last for 28 weeks from the initial start on site.

This is Artisan’s third commission at the OPUS site, having already completed development of an 11,000 sq ft administrative office for the UK learning disability charity Mencap, and another 11,000 sq ft regional office for Chartered Certified accountants and Chartered tax advisers, Bulley Davey.
