Stamford business networking event to include advice on how to reduce your business rate bill

Chamber members are preparing for their final early-morning wake-up call of the year ahead of this Friday’s breakfast networking event in Stamford.

The structured networking event gives companies the opportunity to promote products, services and special offers as they move around the room, with time for further conversations over a full English breakfast.

Companies already booked to attend have already confirmed they’ll be travelling across from Huntingdon, Cambridge and March to take advantage of the opportunity to connect with businesses from the Peterborough and Stamford areas.

Guest speaker Alan Watson, Partner and Head of Rating at Rapleys, will also be explaining after breakfast how companies can successfully appeal for a reduction in their business rates. With revised assessments coming into force in April, companies will discover how they could benefit financially by challenging and appealing against their valuation.

John Bridge OBE DL, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said:

“This breakfast event will be a great way to meet other local businesses and develop new opportunities to do business locally. We are particularly grateful to our guest speaker, Rapleys, who have agreed to support the event by sharing their specialist expertise and answering the many questions the business community has around the business rate system.”
