Solicitors 'go green' and win award

Leading law firm Roythornes has led the way by achieving the Investors in the Environment Green award.

The award recognises the initiatives the law firm has introduced to reduce their environmental impact and make their business more efficient.

Amongst the measures the firm took as they worked towards the award were the increase of recycling facilities, smarter printing technology, increased use of video-conferencing, and the planting of 1,000 bulbs at their Spalding offices.

Speaking about the award, Danielle Higgins, who coordinated the firms efforts said:

“We have had a great response from within the firm and everyone has got behind the measures we have taken. We work a number of agricultural businesses and so appreciate probably more than many firms how important it is to look after the environment in which we work and live.”

Roythornes will continue to work on their environmental policy and measures to further reduce their impact on the environment.

Danielle concluded by saying the programme also makes good business sense:

“If a business can reduce its utility bills it benefits both the environment and the business so it’s clearly a worthwhile programme.”
