Social media and your business

Businesses in the region have been urged to give their views on social media at work as part of Roythornes Solicitors annual Social Media in the Workplace survey

The survey, which comprises of six straightforward questions aims to give a ‘snapshot’ of how businesses are using social media in the business environment and more importantly what controls they have in place to monitor how staff are using it.

Speaking about the research launch, Marketing Manager Mark Dodds said:

“Social media such as Twitter and Facebook has blurred the lines between home and work and unless employers set controls and guidelines in place they run the danger of their brand and their reputation being damaged. Quite simply if members of staff are talking about the firm and its customers in social media, the employer needs to know.”

The survey aims to quantify the size of the problem and give an indication of what businesses are doing to tackle it.
