Retailers revamp and reinvest in Queensgate

Queensgate shopping centre, PeterboroughFollowing its brilliant thirtieth birthday celebrations in March, Queensgate shopping centre is set to have one of the most exciting years yet, with numerous national brands choosing to invest further in the centre.

Set to wow gadget fanatics, high street favourite Jessops has opened the doors to a newly refurbished, state-of-the-art store which enables customers to try out all the latest technologies first hand before buying. Shoppers can even take advantage of an innovative service which enables them to print directly from their own Facebook page. Those looking for a perfect present might choose to print a treasured photo directly onto canvas – another new facility which the Jessops store now boasts.

Added to this, Topshop is opting to significantly expand its popular store in a bid to keep up with growing demand for the latest fashions and will include the same super-sparkly shop-fit as the prestigious Westfield London store.  The extended store will showcase the very latest fashion must-haves for both men and women and this, coupled with shoppers’ favourites Republic, Jack&Jones, Schuh, Superdry and Fat Face means that the centre is now a one-stop shop for fabulous fashionistas wanting to stay bang on trend.

Also enhancing the shopping experience for visitors to the centre, Claire’s Accessories has just finished refurbishing its existing store, further cementing the overall modern retail look that is now echoed throughout the centre.  This comes hot on the heels of the recently re-opened Costa Coffee which boasts spacious new seating and an ultra-modern shop-fit which is proving a huge hit with shoppers looking for a relaxing refreshment break.

This latest news from the centre follows  on from the exciting announcement that popular Italian restaurant Carluccio’s will open its doors later in the year, as well as the grand opening of superstore Primark in November; firmly establishing Queensgate as the number one shopping destination in the area.

Sam Eastwood, centre director at Queensgate comments: “As Peterborough was recently named one of the safest towns to invest in a recent Retail Risk report by Shopping Centre magazine, it is no wonder that so many recognisable and established brands are showing such confidence in Queensgate. This sentiment is clearly echoed by Clinton Cards’s decision to stay in the centre despite having to close hundreds of stores nationwide. The vibrant retail environment that exists in Queensgate means that our loyal shoppers both locally and further afield continue to come back time after time.

“Following our multi-million pound investment project which will see all of the centre’s car parks totally refurbished, we hope to offer our shoppers the best amenities possible. This coupled with the expansion and refurbishment of many of our stores along with the arrival of Carluccio’s and Primark towards the end of the year, means that visitors can expect the very best shopping experience when they visit Queensgate.”
