Record numbers attend annual city charity conference

A RECORD 165 delegates attended Rawlinsons’ increasingly popular annual charity conference at the Kingsgate Conference Centre in Peterborough.

The full-day event – now in its seventh year – has continued to grow in popularity, and one delegate commented that this is “a really important event for Peterborough”.

Charities were encouraged to think about how they tell their story and demonstrate the great work that they do.   The free event also featured a series of speakers and breakout sessions, addressing a wide range of topical issues, all relevant to the charitable sector including:

  • fundraising
  • IT security
  • tax and finance advice
  • volunteer management
  • process automation
  • sources of funding

“The conference agenda was designed for employees and trustees of charities as well as new and potential trustees. Feedback is always excellent and this year was no different.  Everyone has spoken incredibly positively about the event and really benefit from the opportunity to network and share challenges and ideas with other charities,” said Rawlinsons’ partner Mark Jackson.

“Peterborough has a thriving charity sector from small community based groups to the big household names – which is one of the reasons this annual event is always so well supported,” he added.
