Peterborough skills survey goes live

Economic development company Opportunity Peterborough, has today launched its annual skills survey and is inviting local businesses to participate and have their say. The survey forms part of Peterborough’s Skills Vision, a pledge made by hundreds of local companies to participate in the skills agenda, but all local businesses are urged to take part to give a full picture of the city’s current skill levels and future gaps.

The survey is available to complete online and by responding, companies will identify skills gaps, training needs and experience required to compete for contracts in their business sector.

All respondents will be entered into a free prize draw for a chance to win a Kindle.

The results of the survey will help to inform what education providers offer city-based employees of the future, which will contribute to meeting local business needs and resolving recruitment problems, ultimately boosting economic growth in the city.

Neil Darwin, director of economic development at Opportunity Peterborough said: “The survey is a great way for local businesses to have their say on the city’s skills agenda. If you’ve ever felt there’s a lack of training for jobs in your sector, or found it difficult to recruit people with the right skills for your business, then completing the survey will be a step forward to changing that. Opportunity Peterborough will analyse responses and use the information to influence what provision is delivered in Peterborough.”

The results of the survey will be presented at the Peterborough Skills Summit which takes place on Thursday 6th December, 9.30am-11.30am at The Marriot Hotel. To book your free place, please click here
