Peterborough contractors framework to widen opportunities for local firms
Peterborough contractors framework to widen opportunities for local firms

Local companies associated with construction are being invited to attend an event aimed at keeping more building projects local.

It follows the launch of the council’s Peterborough Contractors Framework earlier this year.

The framework features nine local companies who now have the opportunity to bid first for any council building project up to the value of £5million.

The event on Friday 21 April opens up business opportunities to other smaller contractors, who could be in the running if successful bidders need sub-contractors to work on the projects they win.

The Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce-run event will take place between 12.15pm and 3.00pm at Peterborough Rugby Club, Second Drove, Fengate PE1 5XA.

It’s particularly relevant for developers, contractors, specialist contractors, architects, planning consultants, civil engineers, structural engineers, M&E engineers, surveyors, quantity surveyors and construction fee professionals.

All nine companies on the framework will be present: Burmor Construction, Coulson and Sons, D Brown Building Contractors, Garfield’s Builders, Jeakins Weir, Kier Construction, Lindum Group Peterborough, Morgan Sindall Construction and Infrastructure and RG Carter Cambridge.

The event will be a good chance to network, with one-to-one meeting opportunities with the contractors after a buffet lunch.

Attendance is by invitation only and the network welcomes non-members too. If you would like an invitation e-mail your request including company and contact details to h.bosett@cambscci.co.uk or call 01733 370809.

The event is free to Chamber members (two free places maximum per company) and costs £5.00 (plus VAT) for non-members.

Meet the Contractors is taking place as part of the Peterborough Construction Network, a monthly event that brings together all professions associated with the development and construction industries in the county and region.
