Peterborough based Twenty8Design has been contracted to produce the highly esteemed commemorative brochure for one of the country’s most important cricketing events – the Bunbury ESCA U15 Festival.

Organised by the Bunbury Cricket Club, a huge percentage of all England’s Test Cricketers have been discovered at the Festival. Stars such as Andrew Flintoff, Marcus Trescothick, Michael Vaughan, Graeme Swann, Ian Bell, Matt Prior, Steven Finn, current England captain Alastair Cook and most recently Joe Root became Bunbury number 60 to play for England.

Having qualified to represent their regional sides, the best under-15 cricketers in England are watched throughout the week by ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) selectors who announce the new National U16 squad at the Festival dinner. These boys then have the privilege to represent ESCA in a game against The MCC at the home of cricket, Lords.

Each festival is marked with a commemorative brochure that over the years has changed significantly from a 30 page A5 black and white book in 1986 to this year’s 300 page, full-colour, glossy booklet.

It’s the start of the Golden Brick Road to full England honours.”

With articles from top cricket players, celebrities and even Her Majesty The Queen, the brochure offers insight into the future careers of the most recent crop of Bunbury participants as well as reviewing the previous Festival.

The Bunbury Cricket Club also plays an important philanthropic role. Founded in 1986 by Dr David English CBE, to date, the Club has raised over 15 million for major charities such as Leukaemia Research, Save the Children Fund, Make-A-Wish and Crossroads Centre, Antigua. The Club receives support from music, showbiz and sporting personalities including Bill Wyman, Eric Clapton Sir Ian Botham, Viv Richards, Barry Gibb, and Joanna Lumley.
