Peterborough-based Kamarin Computers has scooped ‘CWL Systems Business of the Year Less than 50’ at the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards 2017.
Staff from the specialist accountancy software and IT provider collected the gong at a glittering winners ceremony held at the Huntingdon Marriott Hotel on 05 April.
Open to companies with less than 50 employees, this award recognises outstanding initiative, boldness and imagination in enterprise, as well as sound management practices.
“There were five other brilliant businesses in our category so I am simply stunned and honoured to win at the SME Cambridgeshire Business Awards 2017,” said Kamarin MD George Smith. “I am also overwhelmed with gratitude for our hardworking employees, without who this achievement would not have been possible.”
“We are a fast growing business built on excellent customer service and high quality products, but at its core Kamarin is about people. We strongly believe that if we attract, develop and keep the best talent in the industry then we will thrive. This strategy is clearly working so I’d like to say a big thank you to our team.”
In its award entry, Kamarin had to demonstrate sustained growth combined with a degree of commercial success that was exceptional for its size.
The company was established 35 years ago but is enjoying a period of unprecedented expansion, retaining 97 per cent of its existing clients and growing its customer base by 23 per cent last year. In fact, 2016 was Kamarin’s best financial year to date.
George continued: “Winning awards is fantastic and we will continue to strive to do so, but we have other big targets too. Perhaps the most ambitious of these is to become one of ‘The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For’. This is something we are all working extremely hard towards.”
