Journalism student hits the headlines with exclusive career workshop

Award-winning student, Annika Löbig, joined local marketing agency Media Matters at their Lynch Wood offices on Wednesday 21 June for a careers advice workshop.

The workshop formed part of a prize from award-sponsors Media Matters after Annika was named Peterborough Regional College’s Highest Achiever in Media 2016/17.

Following the two-hour session, Annika, who is in the final weeks of her first year of a Level 3 BTEC in Media and Journalism, said: “Meeting with professional people, successful in their careers, has been a really useful and encouraging experience.”

Dawn Strange, accounts director at Media Matters, conducted the workshop along with colleagues Cetti Long and Louise Barrett. Dawn said: “Annika was a breath of fresh air. It’s not often that you meet someone who shows such ability alongside a real passion for journalism. We’ll be looking out for her by-line!”

Peterborough Regional College’s annual student awards evening will take place on Thursday 13 July at Peterborough Cathedral with further students receiving awards for their accomplishments throughout the 2016/17 academic year.
