Details:

We currently have a permanent, full-time opportunity for a Trainer to work in our Carpentry workshop. In this role you be responsible for supporting the curriculum in teaching, upskilling and assessing Level 1 – 2 students.  The working hours will usually be 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday.  You may be required to attend interview dates and open days outside of usual working hours.

The successful candidate will have a good level of education to a minimum of Level 3 in Carpentry, along with relevant industry experience.  Ideally you will also hold an assessing qualification but this is not essential as the College will support you in achieving this as part of your professional development.

If this is the right role for you then you will be highly motivated, a self-starter and a strong team player with the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate workloads effectively. You will need to have the highest levels of commitment to the students, be dedicated to facilitating their achievement, able to engage and motivate and have a passion for transferring your own industry knowledge and experience. Exceptional communication skills are essential, both verbally and written along with excellent interpersonal skills to allow you to form effective relationships with your Colleagues.
