PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide overall responsibility for the maintenance, management, monitoring, and reporting of accurate company accounts, in conjunction with the Company accountants and in-house staff.

We are seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to join our small team and as such it is essential that you are self-driven with a flexible attitude. You will be expected to be proactive in your work approach, working efficiently and effectively.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all financial management operations are complied with
  • To maintain and update the Sage Accounts system, ensuring smooth and accurate transaction operations
  • Manage all aspects relating to VAT including submitting returns
  • Complete and prepare monthly journals and produce monthly management accounts
  • Manage account reconciliations
  • Manage, monitor spend and reconcile Company credit cards
  • Ensure that all finance related queries are dealt with accordingly and in a timely manner
  • Produce financial reports for the Senior Management Team, CEO, Finance & Audit Committee and Board regularly or as and when required
  • Liaise with the Company’s external auditors to provide all the appropriate papers for the annual audits, (and manage current, potentially temporary arrangements with external accountants)
  • To closely monitor and manage income, cash flow, expenditure and forecasting
  • Liaise with external suppliers and providers regarding the Company’s payroll and pensions
  • Liaise with the Company’s bank on all financial matters
  • Ensure all invoices are issued in a timely manner and chase any outstanding payments proactively
  • Make payments in a timely manner whilst also monitoring the Company’s cashflow
  • Positively contribute to the Company’s operational management systems

 

PERSON PROFILE

Experience:

  • Exceptional experience of accurate finance management
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting processes and procedures
  • Ability to handle figures with speed, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Competent in Sage 50 and Office, especially Excel
  • Extensive experience of handling, understanding and complying with all financial issues including but not exhaustively VAT, HMRC
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Ability to plan, organise and execute own workload effectively with minimal supervision
  • Consistent and professional disposition
  • Ability to meet targets and deadlines
  • Able to work alongside others in an office environment
  • Willingness to accept responsibility
  • Good analytical and problem solving ability
  • Positive team player willing to contribute proactively to the Company’s operations and wider team responsibilities
