Location: Allia Future Business Centre Peterborough, with occasional travel to other locations as required Hours: Combined 5 days/35 hours per week

Contract: 6 Month Fixed Term Contract to 31 December 2018

Salary – Up to £35,000.00 (pro rata) depending on experience

Reports to – Head of Enterprise Engagement

Who Are We Looking For

Allia has 2 roles for experienced individual(s) to lead the delivery of our “Serious Impact” business support programme in Peterborough which helps entrepreneurs to start and grow their impact ventures. The roles could be suitable for 1 full time or 2 part time individuals.

The individual(s) should have experience with engaging with external stakeholders and be capable of delivering a programme of outreach and business support events. You will have a track record of delivering externally funded programmes of business support and ideally have experience in supporting Impact businesses.

You will be part of a highly motivated, entrepreneurial team, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Engagement. You will have the chance to work at the cutting edge of impact innovation and be involved in empowering and encouraging entrepreneurs and early stage ventures on the path to achieving sustained and meaningful growth. This role brings with it a high level of direct client interaction and stakeholder engagement.

Job Description

Role 1 –  Business Support Responsibilities (2-3 days per week)

  • Assist in the development, preparation, planning and implementation of a programme of external stakeholder engagement
  • Identify and maximise relationships with key partners in the region and relevant sectors stimulating and supporting impact entrepreneurship
  • Support marketing efforts and drive the demand and awareness of the programmes
  • Enrolling suitable candidates into the Serious Impact Programme
  • Coordinate and co-deliver programmes and events
  • Progress tracking and reporting on individuals and supported ventures, as well as the impact and success of the business and outreach programmes
  • Provide support to Serious Impact clients and tenants of the Future Business Centre in Peterborough

 

Role 2 –  Business Support (External) Responsibilities (2-3 days per week)

  • ·Assist in the development, preparation, planning and implementation of a programme of outreach to entrepreneurs and businesses in and around the GCGP LEP area, focused on migrants and females
  • Identify and maximise relationships with key partners in the region and relevant sectors stimulating and supporting impact entrepreneurship
  • Support marketing efforts and drive the demand and awareness of the programme 
  • Coordinate and deliver a series of events to the target groups at external locations. 
  • Signpost suitable candidates to other Serious Impact business support activities

 

Person Specification

The roles would suit those with an entrepreneurial mind set with experience in providing early-stage businesses and SME’s with either individual or programme support. Knowledge of, and commitment to, impact innovation is a must, as is experience in delivering funded programmes with reporting requirements.

Essential

The successful candidate(s) will have: 

  • Experience in outreach and recruitment for business support programmes
  • Strong understanding, knowledge and experience of early-stage businesses
  • Experience in delivering early-stage business support events
  • Experience in delivering funded programmes with stringent reporting requirements
  • Established contacts in Peterborough and the surrounding rural areas with key entrepreneurial stakeholders (e.g. businesses, investors, supporters, mentors, academia and service providers)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A “can do” and “go the extra mile” attitude
  • Eligible to live and work in the UK and fluency in English
  • Hold a valid driving license and have own transport

Desirable

  • 3 years+ experience providing business support
  • Sound knowledge of, and commitment to impact innovation, impact ventures and impact investment and impact entrepreneurs
  • Experience of a business support programme using 3rd parties to assist in the delivery the curriculum
  • Prior experience of delivering EU funded programmes
