We currently have a FTC opportunity for the role of Achievement Support Lead (ASL) providing cover across several curriculum areas, a role that is essential to ensuring timely student success. Your role as an ASL is essential in supporting the progress of the students you work with by building positive working relationships, supporting their aspirations and offering advice, guidance and support in relation to a whole host of pastoral related matters.

As an ASL you will have excellent communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, high levels of integrity, an ability to be flexible and a relentless positive attitude. We need your insight and knowledge to develop and effectively deliver engaging group tutorial materials across the academic year. Working with students setting SMART pastoral targets, monitoring student absence/lateness on a daily basis, liaising with parents/carers and outside agencies where appropriate as part of the monitoring and tracking of learner attendance. Producing weekly/monthly reports liaising with Heads of Faculty, identifying possible barriers to effective learning and ensuring appropriate intervention to help them overcome these barriers.

You will be part of a team of focussed colleagues whose working hours are usually between 8.30 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on Friday.  However, the working hours will vary on occasions dependent on the needs of the College and our students.  You will have a good level of education, inclusive of level 2 in English and Maths.  You will be experienced in using IT applications and have the ability to lead and co-ordinate whilst overseeing the activities highlighted.
