Jobs boost announced for city

A major recruitment drive has been launched to fill a number of new roles bringing a jobs boost to the city.

Around 30 vacancies have been created at the Peterborough offices of a national company as a result of business growth. The search is now on for staff with the right skills to fill the contact centre support roles.

Independent agency Anne Corder Recruitment (ACR), which is working closely with the company to find the right candidates, has welcomed the move.

“This is a significant boost for Peterborough which, like everywhere, has seen a continuing decline in the number of job vacancies,” said ACR recruitment partner Kerry Tanner. “This kind of recruitment drive is just what is needed to inject some positivity into the current jobs market. It’s good news for job seekers but is also a very real demonstration that there are companies which are willing to invest in the city and in the future,

“Any business expanding in the current climate and increasing its workforce is to be congratulated.”

ACR, based in Park Road, Peterborough, is staging an open event to pinpoint candidates with the right skills to fill the roles, available between now and the summer.

“The client is specifically looking for candidates with customer service, administration and IT skills,” said Kerry. “For a number of years, Peterborough has been proud to have been a contact centre hub so we are confident the right people with the right skills can be recruited from the area.”

The vacancies are for support roles working Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm with no shift work.

To be considered for the roles, which carry a salary of around £13,500, email your CV to recruitment@annecorder.co.uk. Appointments for the open event must be made in advance.
