Homeless children enjoy visit from Father Christmas at CKH Christmas Party

Cross Keys Homes (CKH) joined forces with Father Christmas and a group of local businesses to bring some Christmas cheer to children without a permanent place to call home.

CKH captured the generosity and goodwill of organisations across the city to provide families who are spending the festive period in short stay accommodation in Peterborough with some seasonal fun.

A Christmas party, held in Fletton, saw Santa distribute gifts to children not only in CKH’s short stay accommodation, but to all those who have no permanent home in the city this Christmas.

CKH’s Director of Supported Housing, Maureen Lazaretti, said: “Christmas without a home is almost unimaginable for most of us, however, it’s the sad reality for more than 400 children and their families in Peterborough this year.

“Thanks to the generosity of so many local companies we have been able to extend the Christmas cheer to all those homeless families across the city, not just those living in CKH short stay accommodation.

“We wanted to make sure that the children still have a reason to smile and it was wonderful to see them enjoying the party so much, particularly the special visit from Father Christmas.”

The huge involvement and generosity of more than ten local businesses and volunteers who donated their time, gifts, food, entertainment and transport made the event possible. Castleton plc, Mears Group, Larkfleet Homes, Domino’s Pizza, Good Time Entertainers, Glittery Faces, Tesco, Asda, Heart FM, Stagecoach and Posh Carz all worked with CKH to create a Christmas party to remember.

Cross Keys Homes’ has six short stay accommodation schemes around Peterborough with Support Workers on hand to offer help and support to families and individuals seeking permanent homes.
