Hilton Garden Inn for Fletton Quays
Hilton Garden Inn for Fletton Quays

Hilton has signed a franchise agreement with Fletton Quays Hotel Ltd, a subsidiary of Norlin Hotels Holdings Ltd, to open Hilton Garden Inn Peterborough.

Developed within Fletton Quays, a city-centre riverside regeneration, the nine-storey hotel will have 160 guestrooms and is scheduled to open in 2019. The hotel will be situated less than a kilometre from Peterborough city centre and in sight of the Key Theatre and the city’s cathedral, with its striking early Gothic façade.

“Peterborough is the UK’s fourth fastest growing city. The high proportion of private sector jobs and its proximity to London – taking less than an hour by train to get to King’s Cross station – is drawing in more business and driving demand for accommodation,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton. “Hilton Garden Inn Peterborough will be the leading hotel in this flourishing market.”

“We are excited to build on our successful partnership with Hilton, which began in 2016 with our acquisition of Hampton by Hilton Exeter Airport,” said Mike Aspinall, Norlin Hotels Holdings Ltd. “Hilton Garden Inn Peterborough marks our second collaboration and we look forward to welcoming guests to what will be the city’s finest hotel and a destination in its own right.”

Howard Bright, Peterborough Investment Partnership (PIP) said: “Fletton Quays is the first project to be brought forward by the Peterborough Investment Partnership. Along with the hotel, the wider development will deliver new office, residential, leisure and retail space. The area will become a new hub of activity for locals and visitors alike with the addition of a global hotel brand like Hilton.”

Hilton Garden Inn Peterborough will be located at Fletton Quays, Peterborough and will include a number of meeting rooms, fitness centre, riverside restaurant and rooftop bar.

Councillor John Holdich, Leader of Peterborough City Council and Chair of the PIP board, said: “The inclusion of a global hotel brand like Hilton will add to the prestige of Fletton Quays. This will be a real asset for the city and is sure to bring visitors from far afield.”
