Hegarty Solicitors undertake marathon walk in support of local charity

Over 25 partners and staff at local Law firm Hegarty Solicitors are preparing to embark on a mammoth 34 mile sponsored walk from Peterborough to Oakham, via Stamford on 9th June 2018.

The walk aims to raise much needed funds supporting local charity ‘For Rutland’ to provide an adviser at Rutland Citizens Advice. The adviser offers free, confidential and impartial advice to local people affected by cancer, dementia, strokes and other long term health conditions.

At 34 miles, the walk is almost 8 miles longer than a marathon and is expected to take over 12 hours to complete. Starting out at the Hegarty Solicitors office in Peterborough, the route will take walkers to the Hegarty Solicitors Stamford office. Walkers will then continue on a further 17 miles to the finish line at the Hegarty Solicitors office on South Street in Oakham.

Partners and staff are already in training for the walk and many more are planning on supporting walkers along the way and taking part in sections of the walk.

Sean Rowcliffe, Partner at Hegarty Solicitors says: “I am delighted to see so many staff members participating in the charity walk. The walk will help us raise funds for an exceptional cause. ‘For Rutland’ is our charity of the year and the marathon walk is one of many activities we will be organising this year to raise vital funds for this great cause. Thank you to those who have donated already.”
