Greenwoods Employee gets ready to rock BMX World Championships

Greenwoods Solicitors LLP’s Events Manager, Leah Pearson, is in her final few weeks of training for the UCI BMX World Championships 2017.

She will be travelling over to Rock Hill in the USA for the Championships which takes place from 24 – 30 July 2017.

The event will host participants from more than 40 countries across the world, with a variety of age groups representing their countries at the highest level of BMX racing.

The UCI BMX World Championships are held annually and the winner of each category is crowned the World Champion.

BMX bike race are sprint races on purpose-built, off-road, single-lap race tracks. The track usually consists of a dirt race course made of various jumps and rollers. Professional ranks exist for both men and women.

With a month to go, Leah’s training has increased steadily to include at least two days a week on the track and three days a week in the gym alongside a healthy eating regime. With gruelling hot temperatures expected at Rock Hill, the UK’s recent heatwave has created good training conditions for Leah.

Leah says, “This is my first trip to the Worlds, which means I have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I’m trying to stay relax and focused. A top 8 finish would be the dream, as that gives you a recognised world ranking for the following year. I’m looking forward to getting out there now and representing the UK which truly is an honour.”

Greenwoods has provided sponsorship of Leah to ensure the safe transportation of her bike and to cover her insurance policies for the race.

Managing Director at Greenwoods, Rob Dillarstone, says, “On behalf of everyone at Greenwoods, we wish Leah the very best of luck in her final weeks of training and for the event itself. We were delighted to sponsor her participation in the World Championships and will be behind her all the way.”
