George shines at care awards

Cross Keys Care has recently won two prestigious Great British Care Awards. Its Kingfisher Court extra care scheme has won the Housing with Care category, while local superstar Care Worker, George Carpenter is celebrating having been awarded the Care Newcomer award.

George came to work in care after having a number of other jobs previously. In fact, he was working as a gardener during the building of Kingfisher Court when he saw that they were advertising for Care Workers. George had previously helped care for a number of family members and, as he says: “I thought why not give it a go. It would be a great way of using the skills I gained caring for my family and help others.”

Since joining our Community Care team George has proved himself to be a natural carer and a huge asset to the team and business. He always does that little more to make his clients lives better, and to help them to stay living in their own home.

“I really do love my job – it doesn’t feel like work at all! Every day I leave work with a feeling of total job satisfaction, knowing I have helped to make someone’s life a bit better. Plus Cross Keys Care is such a great company to work for. So supportive and encouraging.” says George. “To have received this award is just the icing on the cake.”
