Cross Keys Homes has been successful in securing just under £25,000 of funding through City College Peterborough’s Community Learning Trust fund.
This is the second year CKH has been awarded the funding and it means it can build on its award winning ‘All About You’ courses aimed at supporting Peterborough’s adult learners who are least likely to participate in mainstream learning.
The courses will include home and garden maintenance, family cooking on a budget and adult literacy. Plus, for the first time this year, CKH had been awarded extra funding to deliver accredited level one qualifications in mental health awareness and in volunteering.
With courses starting from October and running through to June 2019, Cross Keys Homes is hoping to help support over 100 new learners thanks to this funding.
Kate Newbolt, Service Manager – Customer, Community and Stakeholder Engagement at Cross Keys Homes, said: “We are thrilled to have received this funding to continue the great work we started last year. We exceeded all our targets for supporting learners, and to have been awarded the funding again highlights the confidence City College Peterborough has in us as a key training partner.
“At CKH we are committed to supporting our communities and the residents within them to thrive, and the training we delivered last year showed really great results in changing people’s lives. We are delighted that we will be able to carry on helping people to grow in confidence, develop their skills and reach their full potential.”
Sharon Preston-High, Assistant Vice Principal AEB at City College Peterborough said, “CCP are extremely pleased to work in partnership with Cross Keys Homes again this year, it was great to see such an interesting project come through aiming to support the residents in producing some great outcomes. I look forward to working closely with the staff at Cross Keys Homes this year”. Sharon Preston-High, Assistant Vice Principal AEB.
