Food research launched

City based Roythornes Solicitors have launched a research project looking in to the impact or retailer Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies on supplier costs.

The research launch follows an increase in enquiries to the law firm’s specialist food team from suppliers who are facing tougher policies from retailers.

Speaking about the research, Marketing Manager Mark Dodds said:

“CSR is very important to retailers as they all want to be seen to be working to high ethical standards, which is no bad thing.  Recently however we have been speaking to clients who say some of the major supermarkets are ‘raising the bar’ higher, leading to increased costs, which are not always reimbursed by the retailer.”

Our short survey aims to gain an insight into the situation and we would urge any food supplier or producer to let us have their views.

Roythornes food team acts for a wide range of producers and suppliers across the food chain, from primary production to transport and logistics.
