Ria Steventon from Advancement Training is running a 1 day First Aid at Work Course.  This regulated qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become an Emergency First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982 and subsequent changes including the 2017 updates.

The recommended course duration is 1 day, and topics covered include the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness. The qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/or written questioning and practical demonstration.

The minimum contact hours for this qualification, excluding breaks should be for a minimum period of 6 hours over 1 day as a classroom course

All successful students will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, detailing their achievement. The HSE dictate, that to be valid in the workplace, learners must retake the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification before the expiry of 3 years from the date that the original qualification was achieved. The HSE state that the full Emergency First Aid at Work qualification must be taken again to be valid in the workplace.

All their first aid courses fully meet the UK and European Resuscitation Council Guidelines 2015 as per the HSE requirements.

Course costs: £70.00 to be paid in full at time of booking.

Study Commitments: All study time will be within the class-based activity. A willingness to participate in all activities is essential in order to pass the qualification. Assessment is ongoing throughout the day.

What will you need: Due to the practical nature of the course, they recommend you wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing which allows for natural movement. Teas & coffees will be available throughout the day and a light lunch will be provided.  Vegetarian options will be available however should you have any special dietary requirements, please feel free to bring something with you.
