Peterborough’s largest recruitment event for the care sector has arrived!

Hundreds of vacancies available across the city’s care sector

Jobseekers in Peterborough have a fantastic opportunity to apply for a wide range of jobs in the care sector thanks to a forthcoming jobs fair.

The Department for Work and Pensions and Tackling Worklessness in Peterborough (TWIP) are hosting a brand new event showcasing the huge variety of jobs available in care on Tuesday 27 March 2018 from 10.00am to 1.00pm at the Peterborough Town Hall.

With over 20 stands, the event will include hundreds of vacancies from the retail, administration, care, customer service and warehousing sectors. Companies attending include Cross Keys Care, Sahara Community Care Services, Care Solutions, Your Care and Support and Age UK.

The event is being sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions and Cross Keys Homes, and is hoping to help many find work or training opportunities for those looking for a rewarding career in the sector.

Job hunters will be able to meet local employers on the day, find out what support and training opportunities are available in the city as well as browse real time jobs quickly and conveniently. Attendees are therefore strongly encouraged to bring their CVs and dress smartly. Work Coaches from Jobcentreplus will also be available throughout the event to provide support.

Jo Underwood, Senior Operations Leader at Peterborough Jobcentreplus said: “The care sector is very strong in Peterborough and offers a wide variety of rewarding career opportunities. We will have a great selection of full time and part positions on offer and hope that many people who are looking for work will come along to see what amazing opportunities there are in care – work that can offer job satisfaction second to none!”

Tackling Worklessness in Peterborough (TWIP) is a local group which incorporates Jobcentreplus, Peterborough Regional College, City College Peterborough, Peterborough City Council, Peterborough Workspace and Opportunity Peterborough as well as many other local companies and organisations who meet regularly to look at how they can tackle worklessness in the city and is led by Cross Keys Homes, the city’s largest housing association.

The group is committed to offering a wide range of courses, one-to-one sessions, support and training options via their website which is one of the main portals for those searching for employment to access all the options available to them.
