Quality products from waste through new waste separation technology – challenges and potential
Dates(s) - 13/05/2015 - 13/05/2015 10:15 AM - 02:00 PM
Eco Innovation Centre, Peterborough, United Kingdom

The workshop is organised by Opportunity Peterborough in the context of the European project SEPARATE (www.separate-wastesystems.eu). It will bring together waste operators, biogas plant operators, producers of packaged food waste, academia and other public and private players, to discuss the potential for efficient waste separation of organic waste and introduce a new separation solution with 98% efficiency.

The clean and efficient separation of the organic and non-organic fractions from household waste and bio-waste is a tough challenge to operators of waste treatment and AD plants.

On 13 May, the workshop Quality products from waste through new waste separation technology – challenges and potential will present a new separation and pre-treatment system that achieves a 30% higher separation efficiency compared to current systems. The SEPARATE system has been trialed with different UK waste streams.

The two-hour workshop will showcase the innovative separation and cleaning technology solutions on video and present the performance results from recent trials at UK MBT and AD plants. You will get the chance to discuss with the technology owner possible applications of the SEPARATE Waste Systems in the UK.
