Spark Social is a free networking event at Allia Future Business Centre, on the third Thursday of each month. It’s for anyone who is thinking of starting a business or for anyone who is running a company less than 3 years old. So, if you are an entrepreneur, innovator, founder, problem-solver, startup or someone with an idea – come along!

The aim of Spark Social is to help form a collaborative network of enterprising people in Peterborough with a view to helping more people create successful startups and growing, scalable, businesses.

Spark Social is free and informal.  There will be a selection of refreshments on offer. So join us for networking with a beer, glass of wine or juice, and nibbles.

A local (Bretton lad), educated at Bretton Woods School (which was described by an eminent psychologist from Cambridge university as ‘A depository for social waste’)…

…Mike will talk about his journey and share the failures and successes that have shaped the life he has today. Mike will share how he has taken the challenges that life has thrown him, and turned them around to build international businesses and advise over 100 leading global businesses.

As an investor Mike invests in and advises dozens of SME’s and start-ups, and will share the ‘positives & pitfalls’ of being an entrepreneur in a fast paced and frank, no-nonsense speech

Born and raised on council estates, and from the age of 11 in Bretton Peterborough, Mike Greene has worked hard to achieve his success within the business world. As well as being an accomplished and well-known business entrepreneur and angel investor, Mike is and has been a Director/Chairman of multiple companies, including Dot.com, trade associations (representing 33,500 retailers), charities, marketing and retail organisations.

He built a global retail/shopper consultancy, is an international speaker, a professional mentor, and a philanthropist… an endurance adventurer, Mike has climbed many mountains, walked on burning coals, sailed 6000 miles from London to Rio, ran 6 marathons and cycled long distance endurance challenges). A passionate charity fundraiser and a dedicated family man with his wife Julia and their two daughters.

In 2011/12 Mike starred as one of Channel 4’s Secret Millionaires. Following

the programme, which had a great impact on him, he sold his main

business and took a three-month sabbatical with the personal challenge to

raise £100,000 for 100 charities in 100 days.

Mike is a certified Behavioural profiler, has an Honorary Doctorate in Education (EdD) from ARU, is a Trustee of Peterborough Cathedral and regular speaker at conferences around the world on many areas of personal and business development.
