International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.

The aim of the event is to raise the profile of issues that are central to career development for female colleagues at both a local and national level. Opening the event will be keynote speaker Georgie Bullen, Paralympian GB Goalball player who competed in London 2012. Since competing Georgie found difficulty finding employment due to her visual impairment which encouraged her to set up her own businesses – Team Insight – to raise awarenes. Georgie will share her own experiences and challenges faced and how she has utilised her skills in sport to run her business.

Over light refreshments we will debate the International Women’s Day theme #PressforProgress and take time to consider our own ambition or aspiration and barriers faced as women.
