Two local businesses have organised a special cyber security seminar to help Peterborough-based companies understand the risk and mitigate against it.
Kamarin Computers, who advise on cyber security, and Hegarty’s Solicitors have organised the breakfast event at the Holiday Inn West in Thorpe Wood on Wednesday October 4.
“Cyber crime is one of the biggest challenges facing business today,” said George Smith, managing director of Kamarin Computers, “and yet so many companies fail to heed the advice.
“Major cyber attacks can be catastrophic and some companies across the UK have paid the ultimate price because they were unprepared,” he added.
Subjects covered at the free event include:
– Contractual limitations of liability – Andrew Heeler, Partner, Hegarty’s Solicitors
– Implementing a cyber security strategy – James Royle, IT consultant, Kamarin Computers
– Protecting your business online – Joseph Cooksey, Regional Digital Eagle, Barclays
“We hope those attending will leave with a much clearer picture of what the risks are, what they can do to reduce that risk and the implications for their businesses if they don’t,” added Hegarty’s Partner Andrew Heeler.
Registration and breakfast is from 7.30am with the presentations starting at 8am and finishing around 9.30am. If you would like to attend, please register for free on: kamarin.co.uk/cybersec
