In our fast paced, high pressure world, it's all too easy to overlook the well-being of the individuals who drive our organisations forward.  The demands of the modern work place can place immense stress on our mental and physical health, leading to burnout, reduced productivity and an overall diminished quality of life.  But if we are to thrive in our careers and personal lives, it is imperative that we recognise and address this issue head on.

Healthy choices and the impact on workplace productivity

Your business needs you healthy, but how do you make the right choices?  We are joined by Chris Wilson, a health enabler working with the not-for-profit Health Insurance provider, WPA, he strives to get people to think differently about health.  Having navigated his way through his own mid life bumps, he went from 15+ stone to Ironman and now works every day to bring health protection and advice to businesses and individuals, especially those in Mid Life.  Chris joins us to explore the connection between the brain and the gut, sugar spikes, and the three simplest systems to contribute to good, long-term health. Every business needs good people.

Building mental health and resilience

Our second speaker Patrick Melville works with over 80 organisations and over 6000 individuals to build brands through focusing on strong mental health.

Patrick worked in the marketing and media sector for 16 years. The combination of working at companies and being independent has allowed him to see to the industry from the perspective of: companies, regions, levels and disciplines.

In August 2017, he was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. This is a catalyst for him to share his story, professional and personal. His experience has opened his eyes to how to look after yourself. He is using various techniques that he shares, such as Circle of Strength. Active Listening, How to create the positive thoughts – 6 C’s of Dopamine. These help him with his physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. He wants to help people look after themselves and avoid “putting off till tomorrow” what they can and should do “today”.
