Peterborough has a vision: to create a truly smart city by embedding an innovative citywide circular economy approach. That is not going to be quick and it is certainly not going to be easy, but in order to achieve it we need to get started.

We are starting an ambitious programme of work looking to become the first Circular City in the UK.  We are going to apply the Circular Economy concept at the city scale whilst creating  the business conditions and collaborations  to make this transition happen. We want Peterborough to be the place to experiment, learn and grow these ideas.

Our collaborative and interactive workshop in November 2015 invites national expertise, leading professionals, academics and city experts to a constructive dialogue with key local players to transform our vision into reality.

Our aim is to produce a roadmap from where we are to where we want to be, committing us to short, medium and long term targets that will not only see practical delivery on the ground tomorrow but start influencing national policy so that we can create the cities we all want to live in.
