Art in the Heart supports the Kidneeds charity in order to help local boy Alex Gibbs from Deeping St.James. He has a rare and incurable kidney disease called Dense Deposit Disease(DDD) and has previously relied on dialysis treatment. Recently Alex had a kidney transplant which gives him much needed respite but unfortunately this new kidney might not last and Alex will be back on dialysis.
Kidneeds is an international charity which was set up to fund research into finding a cure for DDD, a disease mainly affecting children. The charity is completely non-profit making and is run by volunteers. All associated administration costs are met by a private sponsor, so that 100% of all donations go straight into funding the research. Be assured that any donation you give will go straight to helping Alex and other children with DDD.
There is a charity box in our gallery and shop, 47 Bridge Street Peterborough with more information about the charity. You can also donate from the Art in the Heart by linking into the Kidneeds page.
Art in the Heart also supports the charity through the sale of sweets and profits from other events of ours.
