What is Dragon Boating?
Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese Tradition and the fastest growing water sport activity in Britain today – As well as the most fun. Up to 10 people paddle each 30 ft. boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course. No previous experience is required, just plenty of team spirit. Grafham water offers spectacular venue for racing and a wonderful day is guaranteed. With plenty of entertainment for families including a funfair, inflatables live music and refreshments.
Team Entry Fee:
- Standard Entry: £365
- Silver Entry: £850 + £400 donation to YMCA Cambridgeshire & Peterborough – This package includes banner advertising, team photo and website entry.
- Gold Entry: £1200 + £600 donation to YMCA Cambridgeshire & Peterborough – This package also includes banner advertising, team photo, website entry, team marquee with chairs and a full page advert in the event programme.
Team Details:
A maximum number of 17 participants (16 paddlers plus a drummer) will be permitted to crew a dragon boat. Each team must elect a Boat Captain. The Client may prescribe lower team numbers (i.e. 14, 12, 10 or 8 paddlers) and team composition of male, female, youth, adult or any combination of these. Subject to overall weight of the boat and its crew, and the prevailing conditions, the Company has the absolute right to further limit team numbers on the day in the interest of safety. No refunds will be offered for fewer competitors competing than the number prescribed.
