Cross Keys Homes and Paydata join together on mentoring project

Cross Keys Homes is delighted to announce it is teaming up with local consultancy business Paydata, to improve the career prospects of local people.

The project will provide targeted, one to one mentoring advice and support to people who are in work, but on low incomes and looking to improve their skills and in turn their earning potential. The support will enable participants to build their confidence, attend training and in turn progress in their careers.

The two companies recently met with a number of local families, all looking to improve their career prospects and to discuss the support they would need. It was discovered that many of the barriers they faced were similar. These included a need to improve confidence, develop IT skills and to access work experience that will give them the all-important skills for their CV.

Eight families are now starting on their mentoring programme provided by CKH.

Claire Higgins, Chief Executive at Cross Keys Homes, said, “This project is a great opportunity for us to really target some support specifically at a much overlooked group – those who are in work, but still finding it difficult to make ends meet at the end of the month.

“This project is a great example of how partnership working between companies and not for profit organisations can maximise expertise and resources, not only for the benefit of individuals, but also the local economy and society as a whole.”

Paydata is funding the skills workshops through their Hope 20 Foundation. Owner, Paul Hajduk, commented “So many people today are working really hard for their families, but still finding it difficult to make ends meet. Having met the families I can see they have a great drive and determination to build a better future for their families, they just need the support to find the right courses, to get some work experience or to develop their skills.”
