Cross Keys Care triumphs in Great British Care Awards
Cross Keys Care triumphs in Great British Care Awards

Cross Keys Homes’ care service, Cross Keys Care, is celebrating after a fabulous win at the prestigious Great British Care awards.

Its Kingfisher Court retirement living scheme beat off tough opposition from the country’s very best providers of housing for older people, to triumph in the Housing with Care category. The award recognises Kingfisher Court’s excellence in combining life changing housing for older people with the care they need to remain independent. The team at Kingfisher Court have built a real community within the scheme that builds social connections, friendship and support for the residents. The scheme’s restaurant has become a focal point for the wider community and the packed social calendar provides entertainment and events to residents of the scheme and from all over the local area.

The Great British Care Awards celebrate the best individuals and organisations that work across the care sector, and Cross Keys Care made it to the National Finals after winning the Regional Finals back in January.

Cross Keys Homes’ second retirement living scheme – Lapwing Apartments in Matley, Orton Brimbles – is due to open this summer, and will offer residents the same high quality housing and care as those in Kingfisher Court currently enjoy.

CKH Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, is delighted with the award; “This is an amazing achievement for our care team and a real testament to their hard work and dedication to providing the highest level of care possible. To win a national award of this calibre illustrates that we are really getting it right for our residents and employees, and shows that the model for independent living that we have developed at Kingfisher Court really is the best. We are now looking forward to being able to offer this high standard of housing with care to even more people at our Lapwing Apartments development which is due to open later this summer.”
