CKH offers young people their first step on the careers ladder

Cross Keys Homes is recruiting for a new group of young people to take the first step on their career ladder through its pre-apprenticeship programme.

As part of CKH’s commitment to support young people into work the six-month programme gives participants the opportunity to gain tangible work experience and enhance their employability skills.

The pre-apprentice programme is a paid work placement for individuals aged between 16 and 24, designed to provide valuable skills, opportunities, and experience in the work place. This will allow the young people to up-skill, develop, and work as a team, as well as achieve help and support with CV writing, completing application forms, and job interviews.

Over the last year alone, 83% of Cross Keys Homes pre-apprentices have moved into employment education or training, including 23 young people moving into employment.

Current pre-apprentice at CKH, Olivia Smith said: “I would definitely recommend the pre-apprenticeship programme. I’ve learnt such a lot in a short space of time and surpassed my expectations of what I could achieve. I have learnt skills that I will never forget and that will help me so much in the future. I believe everyone should do a placement like this!”
