CKH achieves Tpas accreditation

Peterborough based housing association, Cross Keys Homes (CKH), has demonstrated it puts residents firmly at the heart of its business by being awarded the Tpas Landlord Accreditation, for the second time.

CKH is the first organisation to have achieved the accreditation under the new criteria, which has recently been updated to reflect the more stringent resident involvement standards set in the Housing White Paper.

Tpas, the tenant engagement experts, have awarded CKH the accreditation (the only independent evidence-based accreditation scheme that assesses resident involvement arrangements) following an in-depth and rigorous assessment process. The assessment team found CKH has well established arrangements in place for engaging residents and enabling influence throughout all sections of the business.

CKH places tenants at the very heart of its business with its ground-breaking Residents Board – the first of its kind in the sector – with both the Chair and Vice-Chair of the Residents Board sitting on the Group Board, to ensure tenants’ voices are heard at the very highest level. The housing association also has a number of other involved resident groups, such as a Scrutiny Panel, a Retirement Housing Forum and its tenant-led Area Panels who help make environmental improvements which also have a huge impact on the lives of people in the wider community.

Chief Executive of CKH, Claire Higgins, said: “This recognition is fantastic news for both residents and employees.  Getting tenants involved in the running of our business is key to delivering the right services in the right way. It ensures we provide the highest possible standard of customer service and achieve great value for money by providing the services that our residents want. I am very proud that we have achieved national recognition from an organisation as highly respected as Tpas.”

Chief Executive of Tpas, Jenny Osbourne, said: “I am delighted that Cross Keys Homes have been the first landlord to achieve our new accreditation standards. The accreditation framework has been enhanced to reflect the more stringent consumer regulatory requirements for social housing landlords. By achieving the Tpas Landlord Tenant Engagement accreditation, Cross Keys Homes are leading the way to demonstrate how to put their tenants’ priorities first.”
