City College Peterborough puts adult education on the national map

The city’s adult education offering is being placed firmly on the national map, with City College Peterborough’s glowing report in the Government’s Parliamentary Review.  CCP – which is celebrating its 70th anniversary year – is one of just five colleges in the country be featured in the Higher & Further Education edition of the 2013/2014 review.

Held up as a shining example of best practice, the college was singled out for praise as the only adult college in the UK invited to be part of the review. Copies of The Parliamentary Review, with foreword by Prime Minister David Cameron, are available at the College’s reception in Brook Street and have also been seen by  MPs and key influencers across the UK.

City College Peterborough principal Pat Carrington said: “We have celebrated many special milestones and achievements in our 70th year – but being invited to be included in the Parliamentary Review is one which we are hugely proud of.

“This influential document gives the College a credible platform on which to showcase our offering in terms of the work we undertake with young people, adults and further education – further raising our profile locally, regionally and now nationally.”

The college was featured in the review alongside nine other colleges and universities including London South Bank University and the University of Hull.
