Businesses raise a glass to the end of a successful year

Opportunity Peterborough is giving businesses across the city a chance to kick their Christmas season off with a bang at a free festive drinks and canapés reception on 1st December in the newly refurbished Stuart House.

Sponsored by Commercial Estates Group (CEG) who owns the landmark office building, the drinks event provides the chance for local businesses to celebrate another successful year of growth for the city, while also getting a sneak peek of the newly finished prime office space.

Chief executive of economic development company Opportunity Peterborough, Steve Bowyer, said, “2016 has been a good year for Peterborough – we’ve been ranked amongst the most creative and vibrant places to work in the UK, shared our smart city achievements on the world stage in Barcelona and been recognised as a place where businesses can thrive at the Enterprising Britain Awards.

“Investments like the one CEG has made in Stuart House adds huge appeal to the city and shows that, in spite of uncertain times, Peterborough continues to be an extremely attractive place for investors and businesses. We’re please to be opening up this free event to the wider business community, not just the members of our popular Bondholder Network. Every single business has contributed to the city’s success soit’s only right we celebrate with them.”

The Oppotunity Peterborough Bondholder Network gives members exclusive access to valuable insight into the economy and shares business opportunities through newsletters, regular Bondholder networking breakfasts as well as free access to business support from Enterprise Nation.

Rachel FitzGerald, Investment Manager at CEG says: “Peterborough City Centre is the perfect location for corporate HQs or regional branch offices with its fast rail links to London, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and Edinburgh, as well as the A1 on the doorstep.  Whilst offering car parking to rival the city’s business parks, Stuart House provides Grade A offices a short walk from the railway station. The recent refurbishment has generated a 21st century building with dramatic receptions, secure cycle storage and showers. CEG is continuing to invest in Stuart House and will be introducing a café and gym in 2017.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming local businesses to the Bondholder drinks event where we’ll be pleased to show off the new office space.”
