  • Kitchen Table Entrepreneurs Competition

    This competition aims to help businesspeople bring their enterprising ideas, imagined during the coronavirus lockdown, to fruition.

    The competition has an overall budget of £250,000.

    Prizes are as follows:

    • 25 grants of £5,000 will be given to existing small businesses looking to expand.
    • 25 grants of £5,000 will be given new businesses needing some funding to get started.

    Applications are open to entrepreneurs and micro business owners who are residents of the UK and aged 18 or over.

    The deadline for applications is 22 May 2021 (23:59 BST).

    • start your own business
    • develop your business, if you’re already self-employed

    A Start Up Loan is a personal loan for business purposes, it aims to help individuals starting a new venture which is either still in the planning stages or has been trading for up to 12 months, although in certain circumstances this may be extended to 24 months.

  • Princes Trust (ages 18-30)

    When you join the free Enterprise programme run by The Prince’s Trust, you’ll benefit from the skills, training and mentoring to make your business a success – along with the chance to apply for a low-interest loan.

    Prince’s Trust works with the Start Up Loans Company to offer low-interest business loans between £500 to £5,000 at a rate of 6.2% APR.

  • Fredericks Foundation

    Fredericks is a Responsible Finance Provider (RFP) and a charity that provides loans to people who want to set up a new business or maintain or expand an existing business. Fredericks is open to anyone who has a viable business proposition but cannot obtain mainstream finance.

    For start-up businesses we offer up to a maximum of £10,000, though our average loan is less than £5,000. For established businesses with a financial track record of at least 3 years the maximum loan is £20,000.
