Business leaders turn out for food event

Over 40  business leaders from the food sector gathered in Roythornes Solicitors offices to hear the Chief Executive of one of the world’s largest agri-food businesses describe how he had helped to grow the company from being a large regional firm to a global specialist in the agri-food sector.

In front of the invited audience David Yiend explained how the growth of AB Agri had been based on core values and brave decisions, and by ensuring that the business along with all those within the group were agile and able to take advantage of market developments.

The event was run by the Food, Drink and Agriculture section of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.  The section holds most of their events in London, but because of Roythornes strong position in the food sector it was decided to try an ‘out of town’ event.

Speaking about the event, John Giles, who chairs the FDA division of the CIM said:

“We were delighted with the turnout and the quality of the audience and very grateful to Roythornes for the use of their facilities and help in organising the evening.  It’s useful for us to get out and about every now and then and this is a great region to do that because of its’ role in supplying a high proportion of the nation’s food.”

Roythornes Marketing Manager Mark Dodds said:

“The event was a great success, as we had an engaging high profile speaker talking to senior people in then food sector.  It was a chance to get leading figures in the food industry together to discuss how they can meet the challenges in today’s global markets.”
