Building work begins at Hampton Court, Westwood

Construction work on the former car park at Hampton Court, Westwood has begun following planning approval for the site being granted by Peterborough City Council earlier this year.

Burmor Construction has started laying the footings to build 16 new affordable homes for Cross Keys Homes with the new homes anticipated to be ready for people to move into by the summer of next year. A new car park is being provided off Lutton Grove as part of the development.

The site located opposite Hampton Court’s shopping parade will see 1, 2 and 3 bedroom affordable homes for local people with improvement works also being carried out to the shopping parade as part of the development works.

This one hundred percent affordable scheme will consist of 12 affordable rented and 4 shared ownership homes, and will utilise over £600,000 of grant funding from the Homes and Communities Agency.

Cross Keys Homes’ Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “We are really excited to be building these desperately needed new affordable homes for local people as well as investing significant funds to improve our shopping parade at the same time.”
