Bondholder Breakfast Feb 2013

Our Bondholder Breakfast held at the Marriott on 7 February was a great success with a full house of 160 business representatives.  The event was sponsored by “Think Peterborough”, the new learning initiative offered by Peterborough Regional College, University Centre Peterborough & Anglia Ruskin University and UCP’s Academic Director Liz Knight elucidated on the various solutions that will be available.  The City Council’s leader Cllr Marco Cereste outlined the 2013-14 Budget and its implications and Julia Nix keenly promoted the great services now being offered by JobCentre Plus.  Janette Powell of The One Service invited organisations to invest in the Peterborough Social Impact Bond (she has already received offers from the local business community since the breakfast!) and finally, Alice Johnson of the charity “Young Lives” gave a heart-felt summary of what the ‘Young People’s Enterprise Centre’ is doing to help 16-25 year-old entrepreneurs from various backgrounds across the city. If you would like to see a copy of any of these presentations please email patricia.taylor@opportunitypeterborough.co.uk

Our next breakfast will be held at the Kingsgate Conference Centre on 1st May – look out for details on the Events section of our website over the coming weeks, and if you have colleagues in businesses not already registered as a Bondholder, please encourage them to sign up and become part of the best networking group in the city!
