ABAX announce host of new recruits as it seeks to expand in the UK

ABAX has welcomed eight new team members to its Peterborough office as the company looks to develop in the UK after a successful 2014.

The Norwegian-owned company is the market-leader in developing innovative products which provide cost-effective solutions for businesses and individuals who use a vehicle at work, such as fleet management tools and digital mileage expense claims.

ABAX hit the headlines in November 2014 when Peterborough United announced the company as its major new partner. This five-year deal includes the naming of the club’s ground to ABAX Stadium.

UK Owner and Director Frank Ystenes said: “ABAX’s sales increased by 200 per cent in 2014, therefore, in order to grow as a business, we must support this expansion with new recruits.

“ABAX is a highly ambitious company with a proven track record for success in the Nordic region. Our initial five-year partnership with Peterborough United demonstrates our commitment to grow in the UK. I welcome all the new recruits to ABAX and look forward to a prosperous 2015.”

The company, which first opened a UK office in Warmington in 2012, now has 20 employees.

Jonathan Hearn, Richard Epton, Danny Lilley, Jack Hammond and Kirsty Hansen have started with the booking team and will deal with lead generation. Bruce Parker and James Asher join the field sales team. Matthew Walsh joins as a customer relations consultant.

Matthew Walsh said: “I was lucky enough to start with ABAX at around the same time as the deal with the Posh was announced. ABAX made me feel valued from the very beginning. “

Jonathan Hearn added: “You can see straight away how firm the foundations are for ABAX in the UK. This is a superb opportunity for me to challenge myself within a company with a very exciting future.”

All the new employees were flown to ABAX’s head office in Larvik, Norway, at the start of January to take part in the 2015 kick off week for the company. This also involved an induction to the company and initial training steps. The week ended with a ‘Winter Wonderland’ themed gala dinner and awards ceremony for all ABAX employees, held in the Norwegian mountains.
