LARKFLEET HOMES’ LEIGHFIELD PARK DEVELOPMENT TO SUPPORT CANCER CHARITY IN WORLD’S BIGGEST COFFEE MORNING EVENT

Larkfleet Homes (www.larkfleethomes.co.uk), part of the Larkfleet Group (www.larkfleetgroup.co.uk), is taking part in the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ (http://coffee.macmillan.org.uk) on Friday 27 September – Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event.

The ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ encourages businesses and individuals from all over the UK – and sometimes further afield – to hold an informal coffee morning where donations are made to the charity in exchange for a cup of coffee.

Larkfleet’s Leighfield Park development in Oakham – the first phase of Oakham Heights, Larkfleet’s major urban expansion of Oakham – will host a coffee morning on 27 September at its sales office as part of the national fundraising event.

Larkfleet’s sales offices at its Abbeyfields and The Croft developments in Bourne and The Coppice in Deeping St James will also take part.

Last year, Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ raised just under £15 million.

Karl Hick, managing director of Larkfleet Homes, said: “Macmillan Cancer Support provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support for cancer sufferers and their families and Larkfleet is delighted to take part in the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ event to try and raise as much money as possible for this cause.

“I would urge anyone in the Oakham area on 27 September to visit the Leighfield Park sales office for a cup of coffee in exchange for a small donation and be part of something that can really make a difference to those whose lives are affected by cancer.”

Leighfield Park is located on land between the Oakham bypass and Barleythorpe Road and offers traditionally-styled two, three, four and five-bedroom properties.

The development is aimed at families looking for a stylish, traditional home that allows them to enjoy rural life while still benefiting from good transport links to surrounding towns and cities.

All 143 properties at Leighfield Park will have solar PV (photovoltaic) panels fitted as standard so homebuyers can benefit from reduced energy bills. The PV panels will produce electricity from daylight, generating useable power even on cloudy days. Larkfleet will also provide allotments for residents at the current market value to encourage a sustainable lifestyle and community and an electric car charging point is also available on site for resident use.

The government’s Help to Buy scheme is available at Leighfield Park so homebuyers could potentially own 100 per cent of a new home with just a 75 per cent mortgage and 5 per cent deposit.

With the new scheme, after homebuyers have provided a five per cent deposit and obtained a conventional mortgage for just 75 per cent of the purchase price, they will receive an equity loan from the government for the remaining 20 per cent (subject to approval). The equity loan is interest free for five years and can be repaid at any time or on the sale of the home.
