There are various avenues you can explore if you’re looking for funding support for your business; there are a number of loans and grants in the region open to Peterborough firms.
Small loans for businesses (Foundation East): Open
- Loans for start-ups, expanding businesses and social enterprises in the East of England Region.
- Loans from £500 to £5000
Co-investment loan (Finance East): Open
- EEDA is seeking to support Business Angel investment by setting aside a total of £1.25 million from their Regional Loan scheme.
- Funding is available as a Co-Investment Loan for high growth SME companies in the East of England
- Loans from £50,000 to £125,000
Regional Growth Loan (Finance East): Open
- EEDA’s regional growth loan is available to new and existing business in the East of England
- Loans from £50,000 to £200,000
Low Carbon Venture Capital Fund
- The Low Carbon Innovation Fund has more than £20m available to aid small and medium businesses in the region to either become more environmentally friendly or take a green product or service forward.

Grants for Research and Development
- A new Technology Strategy Board scheme is offering funding to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to engage in R&D projects in the strategically important areas of science, engineering and technology, from which successful new products, processes and services could emerge.
- The will support R&D projects which offer potentially significant rewards and could stimulate UK economic growth.
- Grant for R&D funding is available to single companies
- Any UK SME working in any sector may apply; applications are accepted on a rolling basis for assessment by independent experts.
- Three types of grant are available: Proof of market; Proof of concept; Development of prototype
